CrossFit is a training program/sport/lifestyle specifically designed to improve fitness and health. All of the workouts are based on functional movements, including gymnastics, weightlifting and conditioning. The idea behind CrossFit is to measure your fitness while doing more work in less time. It’s a sport driven by community and supported with data. Our specialty is not specializing. Sure, CrossFit has its TV superstars, but the program is designed for universalscalability. Your grandparents’ fitness needs and those of Olympic athletes differ by degree, not kind.
Yep! We prefer the term community, but, either way, we’re damn proud. We’re proud of what we can do, what we’re about to do and what we want to accomplish with our fitness goals. We want our friends, family, and neighbors to share in the same success. Before you know it, you’ll be checking tomorrow’sWOD as soon as it’s released and you’ll have made new, like-minded friends. Crossfit is different than your typical LA Fitness or YouFit. We want you to use your membership. Have you ever joined a gym because it’s $20 a month? We’re going to bet that, eventually, you stopped going for some reason or another and you didn’t really care because of that oh-so-attractive membership fee. That doesn’t work! CrossFitters pay for personal training in a fun group environment. We believe in investing in yourself. When you show up for your free trial, you’ll join the group for a high-paced, challenging workout that you’re going to rock. Don’t worry! we’ll scale any of the unfamiliar movements to make sure you rock it, too. Safety is our top concern. After the workout, one of our coaches will metaphorically walk you (you’re going to want to rest after that WOD) through the membership options to see which fits best with your goals. We’re not going to sugar coat it. First, that wouldn’t make it easier. Second, sugar (SPOILER WARNING) isn’t great for you. Yes, all sports have a certain element of risk. So does driving your car or riding your bike. However, our experienced staff will ensure you work out in the safest way possible. Again, safety is our primary concern.
WOD stands for Workout Of the Day. Each WOD is an hour long. It consists of a warm up, skill or strength component and a MetCon. We have team WODs on Saturday. They’re a great change of pace and they’re always challenging. Some days might focus purely on lifting. Others might be contain a more cardio intensive MetCon.They could be short. The could take longer. CrossFit is all about the unexpected.
A MetCon, short for metabolic conditioning, is one of the best ways to improve your fitness. Basically, it’s moving weight quickly with an elevated heart rate. A good example would be the workout “Cindy” – as many reps as possible in 20 minutes of 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, and 15 squats.

Specifically, a typical day for an athlete goes like this:
- Each day, our athletes sign-in to Wodify to reserve their spot in class.
- Then, they’ll write workout notes on a small white board so they don’t forget.
- They work out, get strong as all get out and try to look better naked.
- After class, the equipment is put away, chalk residue is cleaned off the bars and sweaty equipment is wiped clean.
- Finally, athletes record their score in Wodify and gloat about how awesome they did. (Post workout stretching, cool downs, and mobility work is highly encouraged, too)
We’ve got to get serious for just a second, though. Each athlete is accountable for their equipment during and after the workout. We take great pride in a clean and organized gym (It gives us more space for all the gloating).
No problem! Can’t do a pull-up or a push-up? We specialize in adapting to all ability levels. We’ll scale the workout to a similar movement. That way, you’re getting the same workout as the person next to you – no matter who they are.
We hate burpees too! But, we do them because we want to be well-rounded in all aspects of fitness. We expect our athletes to put their best foot forward every day – even on burpee day. Everyone has their favorite and least favorite movements and we can always modify the weight or intensity. We just ask that you have an optimistic approach to improving your fitness.
