This workout is dedicated to Anna Victorious tragically lost her year-long battle with cancer on June 7, 2018, she was just 38. She was diagnosed in June 2017, when her daughter was only 6 months old.
Anna would light up every room she walked into with her infectious smile. She would always have the time of day for anybody. Whether it was just for a chat, a shoulder to cry on, or offering guidance to people who asked for it.
Anna showed incredible strength, bravery, resilience, and kindness through her treatment and beyond. She never lost that infectious smile on her face. She continued to help people and change their outlook on life throughout her cancer journey. She truly was and still is a huge inspiration to so many people.
Throughout Anna’s treatment, she was supported by the amazing charity, Victoria’s Promise @victoriaspromise. They supplied her with counselling, specialist beauty treatments, cleaning services. Childcare was on offer along with wig funding. But what Anna got most out of Victoria’s Promise was the Affinity workshops. Bringing together young women going through similar journeys and challenges.
Anna was a wife, a mother, and an Armed Response Police Officer with Thames Valley Police. She met her husband, Ed, during a firearms course in 2010. They married 10 days before she passed away.
Her husband Ed is rowing the Atlantic in 2021 in her memory and to raise money for Victoria’s Promise who supported Anna throughout her hard-fought battle. Head over to @doitforanna for further details.
Anna was a keen crossfitter and trained at CrossFit Aldermaston. She loved a chipper WOD hence this workout. During her treatment, she did some fundraising which involved a 24 wodathon. Mid chemo, Anna took some part in this event. She completed around 3 WODs and her efforts helped raised £31,000 for charity.
Anna had a saying from Alice Morse Earle she lived by, “Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day.”
